Functions of Rotary Evaporator Main Components
Rotary evaporator, also called rotary evaporator machine, is composed of motor, distillation flask, heating pot, condenser pipe, etc. It is mainly used for continuous distillation of volatile solvents under reduced pressure, and is widely applied in chemistry, chemical industry, bio-medicine and other fields.
 
Its working principle: under negative pressure, the evaporating flask rotates in a constant temperature water bath, and the solution forms a thin film on the flask wall to increase the evaporation area, thus achieving efficient evaporation at low temperature, condensation recovery, concentration and separation of materials.
 
Rotary evaporator is commonly used equipment in laboratories. When using the same evaporator for different experiments, or in different laboratories, the accessories of the evaporator are also different. I. Rotary motor
The operation of rotary motor requires electric drive, and the operation of the motor on the rotary evaporator requires a uniform speed operation, so that the distillation flask is driven at a uniform speed to rotate. II. Evaporation glass tube
Here are two important functions of evaporation glass tube. On the one hand, when the sample is rotated, the evaporation glass tube can serve the purpose of supporting and protecting. On the other hand, the evaporation glass tube can help the vacuum device to extract samples.
III. Vacuum device
The vacuum device on rotary evaporator can greatly reduce the overall air pressure on the rotary evaporator, which is beneficial to the normal operation of the experiment.
IV. Fluid heating pot
The main function of the accessory on the distillation apparatus is to heat the sample, and then better control the required temperature to reach the required use temperature.
V. Condenser pipe
The main purpose of this part is to condense the samples.
